APE
APE is a six-piece band from San Francisco and the only band in the world that features a live Tiki Carver. APE is anything but conventional.
While rooted in exotica, rock, jazz, and Hawaiian music, APE has touched on various genres throughout their career. Their instrumentation is a nontraditional mix of steel guitar, ukuleles and odd tuned acoustics with electric guitars, bass, drums and a variety of percussion instruments. Fronted by a man swinging an ax known as ‘Crazy Al,’ their live shows are not to be missed experiences which is why you might find yourself sitting next to folks like Alice Cooper. Many of their exciting instrumental songs thrive on the dynamics of call-and-response before building to a climax and their animated vocal numbers do a great job of pulling the audience into the mix.
APE has headlined the Hard Rock Cafe and the House of Blues in Las Vegas, the Tiki Oasis festivals in Palm Springs and San Diego, the Hukilau in Florida, shared the bill with Sammy Hagar, Blondie, Link Wray, Preston Epps, Billy Mure and toured the Western United States. This year they are releasing their follow up album to ‘Jungle Gems’ called ‘Supersonic’ as well as a line of limited edition custom APE tiki mugs, a new live film and some fun apparel.
BIRDSEED
Bird Records is proud to present the NOT OUT OF TIME EP, a 10” limited edition vinyl and digital release from BIRDSEED, an American rock band formed in 2012 that has been attracting large numbers of Gen X and Gen Y fans with their classic Fleetwood Mac-meets-Wilco sound. This new release is now available worldwide online and in stores, and features some amazing players and solid, compelling songs that are the manifestation of many hours of hard work and drive. With an interesting backstory of ordinary moms and dads chasing a teenage dream, BIRDSEED was formed while their children were studying together at the Bird School of Music in San Francisco, CA. Their songs address adult angst, lost loves, perseverance through pain, and the transcendent power of music.

KATE
LARDNER
Kate Lardner's powerful voice, soulful song-writing and deft versatility on guitar and piano have already earned her a solid grass-roots following across Marin and San Francisco. Recent appearances include KC Turner's Camp Fire Relief Concert at Novato's Hopmonk Tavern, Terrapin Crossroads with the Branson School Rock Band, opening acts for local Bluegrass band Poor Man’s Whiskey, multiple performances for Bread and Roses and an opening act at San Francisco's acclaimed Noise Pop 20th Street Block Party.
She also produced and was headliner for a sold-out benefit show at Sweetwater last summer (which also featured Bird Records' Ape!) Keep an eye on this emerging young talent with acoustic rock sensibilities.
KEMP
HARRIS
Kemp Harris defies categorization. He is a singer and songwriter, a master weaver of American musical styles. He’s an actor, activist, author, and storyteller, and an award-winning educator who has taught young public school students for more than 40 years.

Kemp’s most recent album, Edenton, featuring vocals from the legendary Holmes Brothers, is a modern blues journey that fuses the personal and the political, the sacred and the profane, to haunting effect. Edenton’s title track, a bittersweet valentine to his birthplace, explores a simpler time in a racially-divided town with the clear-eyed grace that is a hallmark of Kemp’s work. Everything he makes is built on a foundation of social awareness and the desire to reflect the world as he sees and experiences it. Whether he’s performing a rousing soul tune backed by a 14-piece orchestra in a grand concert hall or a hushed meditation alone at his piano, Kemp speaks truth the only way he knows how: by baring his soul. Considering the state of the world, it is no wonder Kemp is back on the road playing to the biggest audiences of his life - selling out rooms from Northern New England to New York City and enjoying a wave of new fans who have discovered this seasoned Renaissance man via word of mouth.
